Frequently Asked Questions

Why ATMRD?

The core purpose of ATMRD is to marry education in research with current therapies. Be prepared to explore in-depth, science-based research focused on efficacy in advancing patients and clinical practice case studies to add value and deepen the discussion.

A robust conversation among colleagues and healthcare providers, this congress is all about enhancing clinical practices for patients, their support network, and you as a clinician.

Who should come to the special receptions on Thursday evening?

Any attendee who's interested in learning and collaborating! AMDAPP will be holding a reception for their members and prospective APPs, and PMD Alliance will be holding a reception for Movement Disorder Fellows, CAMPFiRE Mentees, and their mentors. We encourage you to mix and mingle.

What's the "Empathy in Action" CME dinner?

On Thursday, June 4, ATMRD will kick-off with a new take on the hit experiential "Empathy in Action" breakfast session from 2025. This CME dinner is designed to simulate motor and nonmotor symptoms to help build understanding between providers and patients, and it heavily features patients and care partners directly sharing their experiences. Food will be served, with part of the session taking place outside on the terrace.

What innovative experiences should I look forward to in 2026?

ATMRD is beyond more than just therapies and didactic lectures. It's about intentional human interaction, connection and support you don't get anywhere else, fostered through experiences like:

  • our Conversation Corner, highlighting the importance of support groups and your patient's entire spectrum of care,
  • an artistic play by PD activist Matthew Moore about diagnosis, hiding your symptoms, and completely altering your life,
  • and our Empathy in Action breakfast where you put yourself in your patient's shoes.

See the Agenda to learn more about the intentional conversations ATMRD creates that can make you a better doctor.

What is AMDAPP?

The Association of Movement Disorder Advanced Practice Providers (AMDAPP™) is a professional network built for APPs by APPs in movement disorders to connect, refuel their inspiration, deep dive into further education, and collaborate to advance care for patients. AMDAPP™ is the only network for movement disorder APPs. Based on available data APPs treating persons with movement disorders are more than 30,000 strong.

AMDAPP’s origins began in 2019 when the Parkinson & Movement Disorder Alliance (PMD Alliance) recognized the need for an organized, collective network to ensure there is support for an essential part of the Movement Disorder Care & Support Ecosystem©. As a first step, the APProvider™ Advisory Board was created to build a continuum of services including an online discussion group, APP-specific continuing medical education (CME) courses, and a first-of-its-kind APP Congress.

Now, as a stand-alone not-for-profit organization, AMDAPP™ believes the APP whole-person, patient-centric approach to care continues to align closely with the philosophies and practices of PMD Alliance. This synergistic relationship will inform, empower, and enrich APPs and their patients for years to come
